Faiza has worked as a journalist and writer for publications in the US and Pakistan, covering human rights, enviornment and education. She has an MA in Journalism from Stanford University, an MA in Creative Writing from Cambridge University and a degree from Cordon Bleu in French cuisine. Suffering from a chronic pain condition, a lot of Faiza’s work explores life altering events like illness and motherhood which change the body, making it unfamiliar and unreliable. Focusing on the female body and what it means within contemporary culture and society, she examines gendered roles, power dynamics and identity, while trying to understand how the female body is seen both in a political as well as a social, religious, and cultural context.
